Dr. Sarah Jordan Lippert Scholarship for Excellence
The second annual recipient of the Dr. Sarah Jordan Lippert Scholarship Award is Art History and Art Education dual major, Courtney Hosler.
In reflecting on how art and art history impacts her life, Courtney states:
“Art education and art history allows me to pursue my love and goals of spreading art no matter the history, technique, or style. It also encompasses something I always wanted to do, touch the art, and immerse myself within its strong histories and beautiful techniques. Without the arts and my exposure to them at a young age, I would not be on the path that I’m on now. On my current path, I will be able to not only pursue my dreams but be able to inspire others to create their own..“
Courtney Hosler
This memorial scholarship was established in 2019 by Art & Art History faculty member, Dr. Linda Johnson in honor of her beloved colleague and mentor, Dr. Sarah Jordan Lippert, who shared with her the passion, solemnity, and joy she felt in pursuing the field of Art History and Museum Studies. Dr. Lippert was a devoted teacher and scholar in the University of Michigan –Flint’s Department of Art and Art History.
